Saul's Witch Cookie

(Witches are bad, and we are not supporting witches by doing this recipe. We are just doing a recipe to get the story point across to the children. Make sure that they know witches are not of God, and it's an abomination to the Lord. Deuteronomy 18:9-12 speaks of a witch being an abomination to the Lord.)

Deuteronomy 18:9-12When thou are come into the house of the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shall not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or daughter to pass through the fire or that useth divination or an observer of times, or an enchanter or a witch. Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits or a wizard or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.)


  • Fudge Stripe Cookies
  • Hershey's Kisses
  • Orange Frosting Pipe Gel 
Turn the cookie upside down, the solid black part.

Put some frosting on it and top it with a Hershey kiss.


You could also try : Make some cupcakes and print this template out. Cut each square out and tape a toothpick to the back and stick down in a frosted cupcake. I do not want kids thinking that witches are something to play around with. This is very dangerous stuff and you do not want to find yourself making light of this. I have not done this recipe with my kids at Church. If you do the cookies one I would stick with making those at home with your own kids and not taking those to Church. I don't want the kids at Church to think that witch hats are funny. I would do the cupcakes and use the template if you are going to take them to Church. This would go along with a lesson that you are doing on Saul speaking to the witch of Endor.


I hope I have not given anyone the wrong impression on the cookie recipe. I realize this is a very touchy story and I do not want others to think that I am making light of this. Witchcraft is demonic. Wizards and people that talk to the dead are demonic too! This is extremely dangerous stuff. When people tamper with this stuff it opens up a door to satan and you do not want to do that. Stay away from it!!!!
